Lou-Anne and I didn’t go to Cape Sable Island yesterday but went to the South Shore instead. I left the house at 5:30 a.m and didn’t get back until 6:00 p.m. We went to Chester, Mahone Bay, Lunenburg , Bridgewater and many points in between! We saw over 30 Loons and we each got lifers.. one for me (Red-necked Grebe), two for Lou-Anne. Yay!!!!!!!!!! OK, so Lou-Anne is 20 years younger than me and she was exhausted so I was beyond exhausted! We didn’t go to CSI because we thought it would be too long a day… thus the title of this blog!! That was our last outing before Lou-Anne goes to Africa for six months so I have a chance of recovering before she gets back! 🙂
It was a beautiful day in this amazing part of our province. Sunny and calm, calm water.
Couldn’t be any more still. The colour is almost gone.
There was still some colour in Mahone Bay where this shot of Buffleheads was taken.
This Horned Grebe was fishing… successfully!
The beginning of his dive made quite a tunnel.
This Red-breasted Merganser decided to do a little walking on water… no fair using wings!
Meanwhile back to Enfield on my morning walk several days ago, I came across this greenish bullrush.. assume it is a mossy growth.
These little Golden-crowned Kinglets are murder to try and catch still enough to get a photo. This is my best to date. If you click on it, you can see a bug in its mouth. Love the little orange feet!
To my friend who came a little close to me with her vehicle when I was walking on our road today.. here is your shout out! Heehee! She wanted a full page spread but she would have to come closer to me than she did for that kind of attention. Didn’t even cause me to swear! 🙂
Until next time..
